Activity Type - Admin

When you add an activity to a file, you can choose the type of activity it is, e.g. appointment, file note, expense, form, document etc. Thread allows you to add activity types in Admin Settings that can then be added to activities when created. You can then view activities based on their type on the File Activities page. 

Adding Activity Types 

  1. 1. Click Admin Settings under User Hub on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. In the Admin Centre, click the Files tab. 

 

  1. 3. In the menu on the left, select Activity Type. 

 

  1. 4. Click Add in the top grey pane. 

  1. 5. A pop-up window will appear. Enter the name of the activity type and click Save. 

 

      The activity type can now be applied to file activities created on Thread. 

Renaming File Activity Types 

Once you have created a file activity, you can edit it to change the name. 

Note: The category name will be changed for activities that already have that category assigned to them. 

  1. 1. Click Admin Settings under User Hub on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. In the Admin Centre, click the Files tab. 

 

  1. 3. In the menu on the left, select Activity Type. 

 

  1. 4. Select the activity type you want to rename and click Edit in the top grey pane. 

  1. 5. In the pop-up window that appears, rename the activity type and click Save. 

 

Deleting Activity Types 

If you no longer want an activity type to appear on Thread, you can delete it at any time. 

Note: The activity type will be removed from existing file activities that have that type assigned to them. 

  1. 1. Click Admin Settings under User Hub on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. In the Admin Centre, click the Files tab. 

 

  1. 3. In the menu on the left, select Activity Type. 

 

  1. 4. Select the activity type you want to delete and click Delete in the top grey pane. 

  2. 5. A confirmation window will appear asking you to confirm your decision. Click OK.
