Creating and Deleting Contacts


New contacts can be easily created on Thread by using the Quick Create Button in the bottom right corner. Once you've created a contact, you can link it to a file, add important documents, answer relevant questions, and much more. 
  1. 1. Click on the quick create button in the bottom right corner.


  1. 2. Select Contact. A pop-up window will appear for you to fill in all relevant details. Mandatory fields are marked with *. 

 



Note: You must click Save before answering questions about a new contact in the Questions tab. 



  1. 3. Click Save to create the contact, or if you want to create more than one contact within the same company, click Save and Copy Contact DetailsThe company field will automatically stay populated in the new contact window, and you can fill in the new contact's details. 


  1. 4. If you have Conflict Check settings turned on, you will receive a prompt to perform a conflict check. Click Yes.




  2. 5. If no conflict arises, the contact will automatically be saved.


  3. 6. If Thread detects similarities between contacts or files, a new window will pop up to show you. If you are happy that no conflict exists, click Save anyway. 


      You can edit your contact's details at any time through the Contacts tab. 

Deleting Contacts 

Should you for any reason need to delete a contact on Thread, you can do this through the Contacts page, provided it is not linked to a file. 

  1. 1. Click Contacts, located in the left pane of your Thread page. 


  1. 2. Select the contact you want to delete and click Delete in the top grey pane. You can search for contacts in the search bar, and you can narrow your search by using the drop-down boxes.  

 


Note: It is not possible to delete contacts that are linked to a file on Thread. 

      A contact that has the link icon (shown below) next to their name is linked to a file.
      

  1. 3. A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm your decision. Click OK.
