Clearing Cache in Browsers

You may need to clear your browsers cache if you are experiencing 502 or 404 errors, if malware has corrupted your cache, or to free up space on your hard drive, amongst other reasons. 

Clearing Cache in Microsoft Edge 

To clear cache in Microsoft Edge, do the following: 


  1. 1. Open Microsoft Edge browser. 


  1. 2. Click the ellipsis button on the top right corner of your browser to open Settings and More. 


  2.              

   
  3. Select Delete browsing data from the drop-down list.

       

  1. 4. In the Delete Browsing Data pop-up that appears, select the data you want to clear and the time range. 



  2. Note: Choose All time as the time range to ensure you get everything. 


                  

5. Click Clear now.

Clearing Cache in Google Chrome  


  1. 1. Open Google Chrome browser. 


  1. 2. Click the ellipsis button on the top right corner of your browser. A dropdown list will appear. 




  1. 3. Select Delete browsing data from the dropdown list. 


     

     4. A new tab will open with a Clear browsing data pop-up. Select the time range for clearing cache and the data you want to clear. 
               Note: Choose All time as the time range to ensure you get everything. 


              

  1. 5. Click Clear data. 


    
Notes The keyboard shortcut for clearing the cache in Google Chrome is Ctrl+Shift+Del. 


Clearing Cache in Mozilla Firefox 

 
  1. 1. Open Mozilla Firefox browser. 


  1. 2. Click the hamburger button on the top right corner of your browser to open a dropdown list. 


            


  1. 3. Select Settings from the dropdown list. 


       


  1. 4. A new tab will open. Click Privacy and Security in the left pane. 

 

  1. 5. Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear data... 


             

  1. 6. In the Clear Data pop-up that appears, select Cached Web Content and click Clear.
