Client Connect - Customer Guide

Accessing Customer Portal


Once your legal representative has given you access to a matter, you’ll receive the below email with your email username to sign into the Client Connect portal. Click into this link to go into the portal. You can also go directly to https://clientconnect.thread.legal/
 




When you click on the link in the email, the Client Connect portal will open in a browser and you will be prompted to sign in with your email address where you received the invite.  



Once you have entered your email you will have to enter a code that will be sent to the email address you have inputted, e.g.:




 


If you don’t receive a code in your email inbox, check the spam folder or click on resend the code option to receive another code. 

NotesEntering the wrong pin code 5 times will block your account from signing in for 15 minutes. You will have to wait this duration until you can try again. 

When you entered the received code, click continue and you will be signed in to Client Connect.  


Viewing Matters 


If you have been given access to multiple matters by your legal representative, once you are signed in you will see a list of matters. Choose which to access, then click continue

Where you have been given access to matters by multiple different companies, you will see the name of the company next to each matter. 


 

If you have access to only one matter, you will be taken to the matter directly. You will see documents that have been shared with you by the legal representative, and you will be able to upload documents to that matter. 

 

Uploading Documents 




Uploading Documents – You can upload documents here from your local device, to share with your legal representative. These can include Microsoft Office files, PNG or JPG with a max 300mb size limit. 
Shared Documents – Any documents that have been shared with you by your legal representative will show in this list as well, and you can open a document preview in a new tab. 
Matter Details – You can view the details of the matter here i.e the name of the matter, the matter owner, when it was created etc. 

Notes
Documents uploaded by you will show with a green icon before the document name.
  

Viewing Shared Documents 


When your legal representative has shared documents with you in the portal, you will receive an email with the list of documents shared. 

 

Within the matter in the portal, you will see the shared documents in the Documents list. 



Documents Preview – You can select here to preview the documents that have been shared with you. Document preview will open in a new tab in your browser.
Download Documents – If the permission for you to download these documents is given by the legal representative, you can use this option to download them. 
Download all – You can use this option if you wish to download all documents in the list. This will download them to a ZIP folder locally on your device/downloads folder.

  2. InfoYou can re-arrange the order of columns in the list by click and hold, then drag as needed. 

Logging out of Portal 

When you have viewed, uploaded or downloaded the documents and you wish to sign out of the portal, you can click on your initials in the top right corner of the page and choose Log out
