With Thread, you can create contact types that can then be applied to newly created or existing contacts. You can then view contacts based on their type in the Contacts tab. So, if you want to view all contacts that are accountants for example, you can do this easily.
Contact types must first be configured in Admin Settings before they can be applied to contacts on Thread.
1. Click Admin Settings in the left pane of Thread.
2. In the Admin Centre, click the General tab.
3. In the left side menu, click Contact Types.
4. In the top grey pane, click Add.
5. A pop-up window will appear. Enter the name of the contact type you want to add.
6. Click Save.
You can now add these categories or contact types to newly created and existing contacts on Thread.
If you need to rename a contact type on Thread, you can do this easily.
1. Click Admin Settings in the left pane of Thread.
2. In the Admin Centre, click the General tab.
3. In the left menu, click Contact Types.
4. Select the contact type you want to rename and click Edit in the top grey pane.
5. In the Edit Setting pop-up that appears, enter a new contact type name.
6. Click Save.
If you want to remove a contact type from Thread, you can do this easily.
Note: If you have assigned a contact type to contacts on Thread and you then remove it in Admin Setting, the contact type will disappear from the particular contact(s).
1. Click Admin Settings in the left pane of Thread.
2. In the Admin Centre, click the General tab.
3. In the left menu, click Contact Types.
4. Select the contact type you want to remove from Thread and click Delete in the top grey pane.
5. A confirmation window will appear asking you to confirm your decision. Click OK.
