Deeds



You can easily add deeds to a contact on Thread. All deeds added to Thread contacts can be viewed and managed on the Deeds page. 

Adding Deeds to Contacts 

Deeds must be added directly to a contact’s details on Thread, they cannot be added to a file.  


  1. 1. Click Contacts, located on the left pane. 

  1. 2. Search for the contact you want to add a deed to and double click their name. 

  1. 3. The Edit Contact window will appear. Go to the Deeds tab. 

 


  1. 4. Drag and drop an image or document file, or click the box to select the deed you wish to upload. 

Note: The file(s) must be less than 300MB. 

 


  1. 5. Click Upload. 

  1. 6. Once uploaded, you can include details of the deed such as the number, title type, date received and released, and property details. You can also toggle to indicate whether you are currently holding the documents. 

 


  1. 7. When finished, click Save. 

Viewing Deeds 

You can view deeds in the Deeds tab of a contact’s details page or on the Deeds page of Thread. 


  1. 1. Click Deeds on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. Use the search bar to search for a deed, or use the date range boxes to view deeds by date. 

 

Editing Deeds 

You can edit a deed at any time after being added to Thread to change the number, title type, date received and released, to show a release or holding of documents, and to add property details. 


  1. 1. Click Deeds in the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. Select the deed you want to edit and click Edit in the top grey pane. 

 

  1. 3. The contact details pop-up window will appear. Here, you can edit all details of the deed. 

 


  1. 4. When finished, click Save. 

  1. 5. To print a copy of the deed, click Print. 

Downloading Deeds 

You can easily download a deed once you have uploaded it to Thread. 


  1. 1. Click Deeds in the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. Select the deed you want to download and click Edit in the top grey pane. 

 


  1. 3. The Edit Contact window will open on the deeds page. Select the deed and click Download. 

 


  1. 4. The deed will open in a new window. You can save and edit it here if necessary. 

Deleting Deeds 

Should you for some reason need to remove a deed from a contact on Thread, you can do this easily. 

  1. 1. Click Contacts on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. Double click the name of the contact you want to delete a deed from. 

  1. 3. The Edit Contact window will appear. Go to the Deeds tab. 

 


  1. 4. Select the deed you want to delete and click Delete. 

 


  1. 5. A confirmation window will appear asking you to confirm your decision. Click Delete.
