Editing Tasks

You may want to edit the details of a task or change its status once it has been dealt with. Any changes made to the status of a task can be viewed on the task itself, in the Tasks tab of a matter or within the To-do list on the left menu. 



Editing Tasks Within a Matter 

You can edit a task directly from the Matters section of Thread if the task is linked to a matter.  

1. Select Matters from the left side pane or use the Search bar to find the matter.  

2. Click on the matter containing the task you want to edit.  

3. Select the Tasks tab of the matter.  



4. Select the task and double click to edit. 

5. A pop-up window will appear where you can edit the description of a task, change the status, or add other users to the task. You will also be able to start the timer to log your time on the task. 



1. Update task description to keep track of progress and to notify other users of updates. 

2. Change the status of the task. 

3. Change the user responsible for the task or assign additional users. Doing this will send a notification to their Outlook account. 

4. Change the priority of the task. 

5. Update the stage of a task. This will only be available within the matter / task. 

6. Record your time on the task which will then be visible in the Daily time sheet. 


6. Click Save.  


Editing Tasks from To-do list  

You can also update and edit tasks directly from the To-do list page on Thread. Here, you can add or change the users responsible, link it to a matter, change the subject, record time and update details.  

1.Click on the To-do list located in the left pane.  

2. Select the Tasks tab, apply the filters needed, and double click on the task to edit. 


3. A pop-up window will appear for you to edit or change the status of a task. You can add users and link a matter to the task from here.  

4. When finished editing, click Save.
