The filecode patterns section on Thread allows you to choose the pattern of how your files are displayed. You can add patterns or separators that are specific to your firm. For example, a file that has the filecode pattern [year][counter][category] would have a filecode resembling 2022/1/Con. You can choose any of the existing patterns in Thread and make it your default, or add a new filecode pattern.
1. Click Admin Settings on the left pane of Thread.
2. Click the General tab.
3. Select Filecode Pattern from the menu on the left.
4. In the top grey pane, click Add.

Category.
Contact Company.
Contact Surname.
Year.
7. For the Second Field of the code, choose from the same options as above.

File count – a sequential number based on the number of files made globally on Thread.
Contact file count – a sequential number based on the number of files made for that specific contact.
10. For the Counter Type Length, choose the number of digits you want the counter type to have. E.g., if the Counter Type Length is 3, and your file is the 100th on Thread, it will appear resembling KAT/FAM/100.
