Group Activities

If you are used to organising file activities and documents into folders, you can continue this practice easily with Thread. The Group Activity feature allows users to create groups or folders for all file activities including documents, bills, correspondence, and more. Users can then choose to view file activities based on their groups, making it easier to manage and organise files. 


Adding File Activities to Groups 

  1. 1. Click Files on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. Click the file name you want to create group activities for. 

  1. 3. Go to the Activities page, under File Documents. 

 

  1. 4. Select the file activities you want to add to a group and click Add to group activity in the top grey pane. 

 

  1. 5. In the pop-up window that appears, select an existing group or click Add + Assign in the top grey pane to create a new group. 

 

  1. 6. A new pop-up will open. To create a main group, enter the name of the new group in the Group name field and click Save. 

To create a sub-group, select a parent group from the Parent group box, enter a sub-group name and click Save. 

 

Viewing File Activities by Group 

Once you have created groups or folders in a file, you can choose to view file activities by group. This way, you can easier manage larger files, and have a more organised view of file activities. 

  1. 1. Click Files on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. Click the file name you want to view by grouped activities. 

  1. 3. Go to the Activities page, under File Documents. 

 

  1. 4. In the grey pane, toggle the View in group button. 

 

  1. 5. When viewing file activities in groups, press the + button to open groups and the – button to close groups. 

 

Editing Group Activities 

Once you have categorised file activities into groups, you can change the activities to a different group whenever needed.

  1. 1. Click Files on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. 2. Click the file name you want to view by grouped activities. 

  1. 3. Go to the Activities page, under File Documents. 

 

  1. 4. In the grey pane, toggle the View in group button. 

 

  1. 5. Select the activity you want to edit to add to a different group and click Add to group activity in the top grey pane. 


  1. 6. In the pop-up window that appears, select the group where you want to add this activity to instead, or click Add & Assign if you need to create a new group for that activity and add it to that. 


  1. 7. Click Save. 


Removing File Activities from Groups 

If you no longer want file activities to appear in a certain group or sub-group, you can remove them easily. 

  1. Click Files on the left pane of Thread. 

  1. Click the file name you want to view by grouped activities. 

  1. Go to the Activities page, under File Documents. 

 

  1. In the grey pane, toggle the View in group button. 

 

  1. Select the activity you want to remove from a group and click Edit in the top grey pane. 

  1. In the pop-up that appears, click the Group activity field. 

 

  1. A new pop-up will appear. Select Others and click OK.
