Searching for files

Searching for files

There are two ways of searching for an existing file in eXpd8

Option 1

1. Type directly into the search field on the home page of eXpd8

Any file name containing the characters typed will be displayed

2. The up & down arrow on your keyboard enables navigation to the returned results

3. Hitting enter will open the selected file

4. Enabling the Search Account Code will facilitate this home page search by file code rather than file name

Option 2

1. Click into the Advance button on the home page for more comprehensive search options

2. Select any of the drop down options of Category, File Owner or Status to limit the search to files of those selections

3. The default settings are all Categories, all File Owners and Open file status

Please note, a default File Owner can be assigned in Settings click here

4. Further search criteria options include File Code, Description, Location or document reference number

Please note, if eXpd8 is closed with any of these options selected, that will be maintained as the default advanced search option

5. The Search For field visible at the top of the screen facilitates searching by file name, or by any of the applied criteria, when enabled.

6. Files are displayed in alphabetical order by default but can be reordered by clicking any of the headings within the table (grid view)

The total number of files for the applied search is displayed below the table
