With the quick create button, users can perform many
functions instantly from any page on Thread. This means that you never have to
leave the page you are on to create a quick task, add a call log or a quick
bill, allowing you to save time on Thread.
You will find the quick create button located in the bottom left corner and clicking on it will provide a list of actions that can be carried out directly from any page you are on.
For each action, a pop-up window will appear for you to fill in any relevant information relating to the action.
Creating Appointments
You can Create Appointments for you and your team members quickly using the quick create button. A pop-up window will appear where you can link the appointment to a matter, set a date and time, include details, and invite your team members.
1. Select Appointment.
2. A pop-up window will
appear where you can fill in all relevant details. Mandatory fields are marked
with *.
3. You can link the appointment to a specific Matter in Thread by typing the matter name into the Link to Matter field.
4. Once finished, select Save to create the appointment.
5. Your appointment will now appear
in the Outlook calendar of you and any invitees.
Call logs can be easily added by using the quick create button, so you can add a Call log to a matter and notify another Thread user without having to leave the page you are on.

The expenses feature on Thread allows you to link an expense to a contact and a Matter, allowing you to keep track of payments that you and your clients have made.

i. To include the expense in an
existing bill, select the bill and click Save.
ii. To create a new bill, click Add in the top pane and create a new bill. You can then add the quick expense to
your new bill.
5. Click Save.
It is easy to log time for a matter on Thread by using the quick create button. Here, you can choose what
you are logging time for, the type of time (billable, unbillable, fixed rate,
admin time etc.), and the rate. You can log time for yourself or for another
team member.

3- Include the time type e.g billable, fixed rate, non-billable, etc
3. Click Save.
Tasks created on Thread will automatically send you email reminders to ensure that you never miss a deadline.
Here, you can include a task subject, priority, due date and time, the status, assign task to other Thread users, and link it to a specific Matter. Make sure to include a description of the task in the Description box.

The quick create button also allows you to easily create new Matters from any page on Thread. You can add documents and contacts to the Matter,
log time and expenses, send emails using Matter details, keep track of
payments, and much more.
1- Choose a matter owner.
2- Select the category of a matter.
3- A matter code will generate automatically. You can change this by typing a new matter code into the field.
4- Choose file rate.
5- Include matter details.
5. i. If the contact already exists on Thread, select their name, and click OK.
ii. If the contact does not exist on Thread, click +Add in the top grey pane to add a new contact.
You can edit the details of your Matter and add new contacts at any time, by accessing it through the Matters tab.
The quick create button allows you to quickly add new contacts to your Thread. Once you have created a new contact, you
can link them to Matters and add any documentation relating to them and their matter.
The company data will automatically be populated, and you can enter in all other details of the new contact.

2. A pop-up window will appear for you to fill in your new companies information. Mandatory fields are marked with *.
3. You can also create a contact for this company after filling in the relevant details before continuing.
4. Select Next to move onto the next section.
5. The company's location should be set from the first section but you can make changes and add new ones to here also.
6. You can create new contacts for the company and edit, delete and view ones created from the first section.
7. Any documents related to the company you can add here by clicking into here and selecting them through the folder or dragging and dropping them into this.
8. In the last section you can create company's custom fields. You will need to fill in this company information. The mandatory fields are marked with *.
9. When completed you will be brought to this company page to view all its details in Thread.
With the quick create button, you can instantly create new bills with just a few clicks. So, if you are face-to-face with a client and need to issue them a bill fast, this can be done using the quick create button.
1 – Enter the matter name you want to create the bill for.
2 – This field will automatically populate with a bill name. You can change it by typing a new name.
3 – Enter the bill amount.
