Bundle Page Numbering

Bundle Page Numbering

When creating a bundle in Thread, you can choose from many options for showing page numbers in the bundle document. Please follow the steps here to first create a bundle.

Once you are ready to generate the bundle, select one of the page numbering options below that you wish to use for the bundle document.

Within the bundle editor, click on Options button.

A pop-up will open with all page numbering options:

If you don't want to show page numbers on your bundle document, for 'Display page numbers' toggle No.

Page Numbering Options

Warning

When generating a bundle as a Word document, the following options cannot be applied

- showing the prefix and section numbering in Table of contents.

- showing the title page number while skipping the table of contents (index) page number.

Select the position of page numbers from the Number Position dropdown.

Select the Number Sequence:

  • All Pages - if you want to show the sequence of page numbers across the document

  • By Section - if you want separate numbering for each section. E.g. numbering starts from page 1 on Discovery section documents, then again from page 1 on Correspondence section documents.

Toggle Yes/No if you want to skip the page numbers on Title (bundle cover) and Index (table of contents) pages. Skipping those pages would start page numbering from the first section page.

AlertWhen generating a bundle as a Word document, it is not possible to skip Index page if you don't also skip page numbering for Title page.

Page Numbering By Section

When selecting number sequence By Section, you can decide between more options on how you want the page numbers to show on each section.

Each section can automatically be assigned a section numbering system in alphabetical order, where page numbers of all documents in a section will have the automatic section letter showing before the number (e.g. if Correspondence is the first section in the bundle it will show as A. Correspondence, and all page numbers in this section will show as A 1, A 2 etc.)

To switch the automatic section numbering on, toggle Yes to Include Section Numbering.

Alternatively, you can select to manually assign a prefix to each section page under the Standard Numbering options. Select the section you have included in the bundle from the dropdown and type the desired prefix. Repeat for all sections.

Select the Numbering Format from the options in the dropdown.

Once you have selected all the desired options, tick the Generate Bundle box at the bottom left of the bundle editor, and choose the document type as Word or PDF.

NotesYou can have both section numbering and prefix included, if preferred.
