Installing Thread Add-ins

Thread offers two add-ins for users: Word Template Designer and Outlook add-in

With the Template Designer, users can create templates and pull client information from Thread, creating client forms and letters with ease. 

Our Outlook add-in allows users to sync their email account to Thread, making it easier to merge Thread documents and files with your email account. Users can attach Thread documents to emails, add emails to files & much more.

Installing the Word Template Designer

To install the Word Template Designer, you must have an Office 365 account and be a Thread subscription customer.

Once installed, you can add custom and predefined fields to a Word document to create your templates.  
  1. 1. Click on the Microsoft store Microsoft AppSource.

  1. Click Get it now to begin installation. 




  1. 2. A pop-up window will appear prompting you to consent. Click Continue. 



  1. 3. Once installed, click Open in Word. 


 

  1. 4. A word document will open. You can launch the template designer by clicking the add-in on the Home tab. 


Note: It is also possible to install the template designer directly within Word.

  1. A. Click on Insert (top toolbar of any Word document).

  1. B. Select Get Add-ins

  2. C. Type Thread into the Search box when in Store tab

  3. Thread Legal Template Designer for Word will appear. Click Add and follow the steps 2 - 4 outlined above



Installing the Outlook Office Add-in

1. Click on the Microsoft store Microsoft AppSource.
Click Get it now to begin installation. 


2. Once installed, click Open in Outlook Web. 

3. Your Outlook will open. You can launch Thread for Email by clicking the ellipsis (3 dots) in the top right corner of any email.


4. In your Desktop Outlook, the add-in can be launched from the toolbar once an email is selected.
