Once key dates have been created in Admin Settings, you can easily add them to your matters. When a key date has been entered on a matter, the matter owner and the user adding the date will see it in their Outlook calendar and receive a reminder in advance (in admin settings you can set how many days in advance you would like a reminder for key dates). You can also include other team members for whom you wish to have the key date showing in their calendar.
1. Click Matters in the left pane.
3. Under the Events tab in the matter, click the drop-down arrow at +New.
4. Select Key Date.
5. The key dates available for the matter category will appear for selection.
6. You can enter the date of the event, the location, specific time (if applicable), and include team members to show the event in their calendar also.
7. When finished entering details, click Save.
The Key dates can be managed in both List and Calendar view in the matter
You can add a Time Record on a Key date for billing purposes. The time record will auto-populate the date and time of the event, and you can edit as needed.
Add or edit assignees to update which users should see this key date in their Outlook calendar.
Any existing key date on a matter can be duplicated to save you time entering the same details again. Once you choose to duplicate a key date, you can edit whatever is needed for the new key date.
1. Click Matters in the left pane.
2. Select the matter you want to enter the key date on.
3. Click the Events tab in the top grey pane.
4. Select the ellipsis on the Key Date you want to duplicate.
5. Click Duplicate.
6. A pop window will appear with a duplicate of the original key date where you can edit any information as needed.
7. Click Save to create the new Key Date.
1. Click Matters in the left pane.
2. Select the matter on which you want to add a Task to a key date.
3. Click the Events tab in the top grey pane.
4. Select the ellipsis on the Key Date for which you want to create a task.
