The Matter Stages setting on Thread allows you to add particular stages that can be used across matters, documents, and in templates. By creating and using matter stages, you can easily manage and view the progress of a case.
Matter stages can be set up in the Admin Centre on Thread.
1. Select the settings tab on the bottom left of your menu.
2. Select Matters and then Stage.
3. To add a new Stage, click +Stage in the top right corner.
4. A pop-up window will appear. Add a stage Name and Description and click Save.
Once you have created a stage, you can add it to a matter category. You can then update the stage of a matter, provided the stage has been added to the matter's category.
To add a stage to a matter, it must be included in a matter category.
1. Select the settings tab on the bottom left of your menu.
2. Select Matters and then Category.
3. Select the category you want to add a stage to and click Edit in the top grey pane.
4. The Edit Setting window will appear. Click Stage and select the stage you want to add to the category from the list that appears.
5. Click Save.
To add a new stage to a matter, the matter must be added to the matter’s category in Admin Settings.
1. Click Matters in the left pane.
2. Select the matter on which you want to add a stage.
3. In the matter Overview, click the drop-down arrow at the Stage tab:
4. Select the stage your matter is currently at.
5. Click Save.
You can easily edit the name or description of a matter stage at any point after it has been created.
1. Select the settings tab on the bottom left of your menu.
2. Select Matters and then Stage.
3. Select the stage you want to edit and click Edit in the top grey pane.
4. In the Edit Setting window, you can change the Name and Description of the matter stage.
5. When finished editing, click Save.
If you no longer want a matter stage to appear on Thread, you can delete it in the Admin Centre.
1. Select the settings tab on the bottom left of your menu.
2. Select Matters and then Stage.
3. Select the stage(s) you want to remove and click Delete in the top grey pane.
4. A confirmation window will appear asking you to confirm your decision. Click OK.
