Emails sent to and from files on Thread have an ID that automatically links them to the file. However, if an email is sent to the Thread dedicated email address, and it is not specifically linked to a file, then it will end up on the Unassigned Emails page.
Further, scanned items that have been received using a configured subject line or the dedicated email address, will also end up on the Unassigned Emails page. See here for more details on setting up scanning via email.
1. Click Unassigned Emails in the left pane.
2. Enter a date range to view unassigned emails in the boxes shown.
