How to change matter category after matter is created?

You may have instances where the matter category needs to be changed, and this can easily be done within the matter Overview page. 
 

When inside a matter, on the matter Overview tab, click on the dropdown menu to select the correct category for the matter.

Click Save to apply the change.

A pop up will appear notifying you that all documents within this matter will be moved to a new SharePoint location. This will not affect anything you see in Thread.

NotesIt may take up to 24 hours for this change to apply system wide. You can continue working on this matter as normal, and you will see the category change effective fully from the following day.  

  

You will notice that the matter category will be greyed out during the change, not allowing you to make any further changes until the category change is fully completed.
