Removing Contacts (Employees) from Companies

You can remove contacts as employees from a company that are no longer needed to be associated with that company, if:
  1. the employee you wish to remove from a company is NOT a primary contact on any of the company matters - see below if it is
  2. the employee you wish to remove from a company is NOT a primary company contact - see below if it is

Removing Contacts from Companies

1. To remove a contact from the company, go to the desired company and click on Employees under the General tab.


2. Select the contact and choose Delete from the top pane. 


3. A pop-up will show asking if you want to just remove this employee from the company or delete from Thread completely. Choose remove if you still wish to keep the contact on Thread, but disassociate it from this company.



If the Contact is Primary Client on Company Matters

When the contact you wish to remove is the primary client on the company matters, you will need to reassign different employees as primary contacts for those matters.
A pop-up will show the list of Company Matters where this contact is marked as Primary Client.  


Go to Mark a contact as 'Primary Client' on a File to learn how to change the primary client on a file.

The contact you are marking as Primary Client on a Company Matter must belong to the same company.

If the Contact is Primary Company Contact

When the contact you wish to remove is the primary company contact, the Delete option will be greyed out, and you will need to make another employee the primary company contact first.

To make someone else the primary company contact, select the contact from the list of employees, and click the Company Contact icon.


This will update the main contact details in the Company Information.
