Sending Emails from a Matter

From each matter in Thread, you can send an email directly to your client or other matter contacts and have replies come back directly to the matter inbox. When sending emails from a Thread Matter you are using your Microsoft account, so any email you send or receive will also show in your Outlook. 

1. Click on Matters in the left pane of your Thread page and go to the desired matter.  
2. Select the
Emails tab on the top pane within the matter. 
3. To send an email from the matter, click 
New Message.


 

4. An email box will appear. You can choose recipients for your email from the matter contacts by clicking on 'To'. 

You can attach any matter documents to the email, use an email template from your saved templates in Thread Template Desk or just add text from your snippets, and choose the font you would like to use. 


  1. 1. Click ‘To’ button and choose the matter contact you wish to email. 

  1. 2. Select any matter document as attachment 

  1. 3. Select saved text snippets that you can quickly add to any email. 

  1. 4. Choose your email templates to auto-populate the email with matter details, as per set template. 

  1. 5. Tick if you want to request read or delivery receipt. 

  1. 6. Choose email priority.  

  1. 7. Use AI assistant to help you compose your email message. 

  1. 8. Tick to create a follow up task. You can choose assignees and due date for the task. 


Notes
When choosing contacts to send email to, you can also choose a company that is linked to the matter, if that company has no contacts. 

To expand your email window, click the bottom right corner of the box to adjust the size:

5. When finished, click Send, or you can choose Schedule Send (see below)to pick a time when you want the email to be sent.

You can also send a quick new email to any contact linked to a matter from the Overview tab, by clicking on email icon next to the contact’s name under ‘Contacts ‘.


 You can also click on Manage, and then right click on the contact name, click Quick new email and choose an email address if your contact has multiple saved.

Schedule Send Email from a Matter 

When following the steps above to send an email, you can choose Schedule message to pick a time when you want the email to be sent. 

 

Choose your desired time for the email to be sent and click OK

Your email will show in the Sent items, with the schedule send time. You can edit the time if needed before it is sent by choosing the Schedule settings option.
