Undertakings

Adding Undertakings  

With Thread, you can add ‘given’ and ‘received’ undertakings and link them to matters. 

       1. Click Vault in the left pane of Thread and then into Undertakings. 

  1.  2. In the top right pane, click +Undertaking.  

  1.  3. A pop-up window will appear for you to fill out details of the undertaking. You can link it to a matter, include a type, a group, status, and more.

2 - Choose a group. Groups can be added in Admin Settings 

3 - Choose a type of Undertaking. Thread has standard Undertaking types but others can be created in Admin Settings 

4 - Include a status. More statuses can be added in Admin Settings 

5 - Name of the client the undertaking is related to 

 

4. Click Save. 

Editing Undertakings  

You can edit the details or change the status of an undertaking at any stage. 

1. Click Vault in the left pane of Thread and then click into Undertakings. 

2. Select the undertaking you want to edit and click Edit in the top grey pane.

AI-generated content may be incorrect. 

3. A pop-up window will appear. You can edit the undertaking to change the status, the group, type, and add the actual date of discharge. 

 

4. Click Save. 

Deleting Undertakings  

If for some reason, you need to delete an undertaking from Thread you can do this easily.  

Notes

Only delete an undertaking if you no longer want it to appear on Thread. You can change the status of an undertaking by editing it.

1. Click Vault in the left pane of Thread and then Undertakings. 

2. Select the undertaking you want to delete and click Delete in the top grey pane. 

3. A confirmation will appear asking you to confirm your decision.  

4. Click OK.
