Thread Outlook Office Add-in is a web-based add-in that can be instantly deployed by your Microsoft Global Administrator to all users within the company. There is no installation required on user devices. Any updates will be instantly applied. It is supported on Mac (Apple) or Windows devices and can be used on Outlook Desktop and Outlook on the Web.

When you receive an email in your Outlook inbox, you can add contacts from that email as Thread contacts directly from Outlook.

When you receive an email from a contact with a document you wish to add to this contact in Thread, you can do this easily using the Outlook add-in.

Create a new Matter using Outlook add-in 
If you need to create a new atter for a client who just sent you an email, you can do this without even going to Thread. Just use the Thread for Email add-in to create the new atter directly from Outlook.

Adding Outlook Emails and Attachments to Thread 
Learn how to save emails and attachments from Outlook to your matter in Thread. 

If you prefer sending emails from Outlook directly, Thread for Email add-in makes it easy for you to find your matter documents and contacts so that you can add them as attachments and recipients. You can also link the email to the matter so that replies will automatically go to the matter inbox. 

 

Shared Mailboxes 

To use the Thread for Email add-in with a shared mailbox such as info@ or reception@, that mailbox needs to be set up in your Microsoft as a shared mailbox, rather than an individual licenced mailbox that multiple users have access to. If you are having issues using the add-in with a shared mailbox, please verify with your IT provider that the mailbox is set as a shared mailbox in your Microsoft admin centre.
