Thread Release Notes 7th November 2025
Financial - Time Updates:
- You can now view time records on a matter in a 'roll-up' view, allowing you to roll-up all the time records per specific item. For example, when there are multiple time records against the same task, email or document, you will be able to see the total count and time for that item.
- Each time record that is linked to a specific item, such as an email, document, call log etc. will now show the item within the time record, and you can click on it to preview or open the item. You can also view the Item column on the page either in List or Roll-up view.
- Manual time records will show the time record 'Description' in the 'Item' column when in roll up view.
- Use the search to look for time records by Description or Item name, or apply filters by user, record type or bill status (both List and Rollup view)

Financial - Expense and Client Account Updates:
- Validation for client account payment has been added where it will not allow you to add client payments for a bigger amount than the current Available Funds.
Expense type now has a separate admin setting from document types. You can now update those to reflect relevant types of expenses for your firm. Please see more info here.
You can now retrieve a list of contacts' or companies' details, showing all custom fields details or filtered by desired custom fields. See here for more details.
Attach to Email from OneDrive or device:
When drafting an email, you can now attach documents in Thread directly from OneDrive or your device, without uploading it first to the matter documents. Once attached to the email, those documents would automatically upload to the matter documents tab as well.
Bug Fix:
- Creating a company still gets created after cancelling
- Schedule Email - Multiple time record icons appear after switching emails
- Call Log - Email notification display wrong user
- Deleting Draft Emails shows error message
- Company > Location - All fields are empty when editing
- Getting 404 Not Found error after moving category
- Custom Fields - Clicking on group multiple times should not show the Edit field panel
- Matter Alert - Searching in the User dropdown returns incorrect results
- Matter Alert - The End Date field still displays an error message even though it already has a value
- Company Custom Fields - Tooltip is missing and cannot resize column
- Bills - Export data is out of date
- A few issues with Custom Fields improved
- Global Contacts page getting Something went wrong error when adjusting browser size
- Improved toolbar for Expenses and Client Account tab under Financial
- UI improvements when logging time using Thread mobile
- Updated pop-up message if an item has already been added to a bill
- Contacts not showing the Company name while generating a document from template
