Work Offline on Documents

Work Offline on Documents

If you need to work on a document offline, you can do this easily by selecting the document from the matter, do a right click, select Additional actions then click Check out.

A  pop up confirmation will show up

A red arrow icon will show up that the document has been checked out from SharePoint to be able to work offline.

Open the document and if it shows as Viewing only, there will be a yellow bar at the top of the document where you need to select Enable Editing.

Then, choose Allow Editing option.

Now you can make the changes you need to this document and once you close the Word app, a pop-up message will show up to confirm if you want to
check in the document so the changes will be saved.
If you are not ready to sync all your changes yet, you can click No and the changes will be saved locally only for you, but other users will not be able to see the changes on that document yet in the matter. If you are happy to sync the document back to Thread, you can just click Yes.

Another pop up message will show if you would want to add some comments. You can just click OK on this.

In Thread, right click on the document, select Additional actions then click Check in.

Your document will now sync all changes you made to it offline and be visible to all users. In the matter, the document will show again with the standard Word document icon. All users can continue working on the document from Thread.
