Thread Reports

Thread provides Management, Financial and User reports for you to keep track of various elements of your firm’s work in Thread.  

For example, how much time members in the organisation have spent on matters and the cost of time spent, based on users' hourly rates; how matters are distributed across your team, or staying up to date on current balances across matters and client accounts.  

Set filters to suit your Report preferences. If required, you can also print all reports directly from Thread in preparation for your internal company meetings. 

 

Management Reports 


NotesYour user role must have permission to view management reports to access this section of reports. 

To access Management Reports: 

  1. 1. Click the Reports icon in the bottom left pane of Thread.

  1. 2. The Management Reports tab will show by default. 

 

 


  1. 3. Select the report you wish to access, apply relevant filters and export/print as required. 

 

The reports available in Management Reports tab are as follows: 

  1. Matter Status Changes Report - a record of any status changes (opened, closed or archived) on matters within a particular date range. You can filter this report by category, status, and date range. 
  1. Matter Deletion Report - a record of all deleted matters and who they were deleted by. You can filter this report by specific matter owner(s), all matter owners and date range. 
  1. Hours Spent -V- Target by Matter Owner Report - a record of total monthly hours logged by fee earner(s), against their user target hours. You can filter this report by specific fee earner(s) or all fee earners in a specific month 
  1. Matter Owner Utilisation Summary Report - a record of open matter distribution across matter owners. You can filter this report by specific matter owner(s), all matter owners, specific or all matter categories, and date range. 
  1. Matter Owner Utilisation Breakdown Report - a record of open matters' distribution across matter owners. You can filter this report by all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, and date range. You can further refine your search to show matters at a particular Stage (e.g. pre-trial, post-trial), Status (open, closed, pending closed, archived) and reflect the total logged time per matter. 
  1. Top 20 Matters by Time Report - a record of matters with the most logged time in a particular date range. You can filter this report by all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, and date range. 
  1. Value for Time Spent Report - a record of all billable vs non-billable time spent on matters, including value for billable time vs time already billed. You can filter this report by specific matter owner, all or specific matter category, matter status(es), and date range. 
  1. Stagnant Matters Report - a record of matters that have not been updated in over a week, month, year, etc. You can filter this report by all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, and time range, i.e. 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year (& greater). 
  1. Matters With No Primary Client Report - a record of matters that do not have a Primary Client assigned. You can filter this report by all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, matter status(es), and date range. 
  1. Timesheet Report- a report of all time records for the whole firm. You can filter this report by all or specific matter owner(s), and in a specific date range. You can also include/exclude time record Description and matter Status columns, as required 

  

Financial Reports 

To access Financial Reports: 

  1. 1. Click the Reports icon in the bottom left pane of Thread.

  1. 2. The Management Reports tab will show by default. Select Financial Reports. 

 

 


  1. 3. Select the report you wish to access, apply relevant filters and export/print as required. 

 

The reports available in Financial Reports tab are as follows:  

  1. Matter Balances Report - a record of current balances on matters for the whole firm or matter owner. You can filter this report by company/contact, all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, matter status(es) and date range. You can also include/exclude matter category, matter code, company and primary client columns, as required. 
  1. Trust Balances Report   - a record of current Client Account balances for the whole firm. You can filter this report by company/contact, all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, matter status(es) and date range.  
  1. Bills Report - a record of all issued or unissued bills for the whole firm. You can filter this report by company/contact, issued/unissued bills, all or specific matter category(s), and in a specific date range. You can also include/exclude amount, category, code, company and tax columns, as required. 
  1. Trust Deposits and Payments Report - a record of monies in (deposits) and out (payments) on behalf of your client. You can filter this report by company/contact, balance type (deposit/payment), all or specific matter category(s), and in a specific date range. 
  1. NCF Report - a record of issued and voided bills with NCF serial numbers. You can filter this report by NCF Type and a specific time Period, i.e. Last month, Last three months, Year to date, Custom dates.
  1. Payments Report - a record of all Payments received in a specified date range. 
  1. Cheque Requisitions Report - a record of all cheque requisitions sent on behalf of your client to a third party. You can filter this report by all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, matter status(es) and date range.

 

 

User Reports 

To access User Reports: 

  1. 1. Click the Reports icon in the bottom left pane of Thread.

  1. 2. The Management Reports tab will show by default. Select User Reports. 

 

 


  1. 3. Select the report you wish to access, and export/print as required. 

 

The reports available in User Reports tab are as follows: 

  1. Billable Time Report - a record of billable time in a specified time period You can filter this report by company/contact/matter name, billed/unbilled, all or specific matter category, matter status(es) and date range. You can also include/exclude matter category, matter company and matter primary client columns, as required. 
  1. Undertakings Report - a record of all Undertakings ‘given’ and ‘received. You can filter this report by given/received, undertaking type, undertaking status and date range. You can also include/exclude matter category, matter company, matter owner, matter code and undertaking group columns, as required. 
  1. Expenses Report - a record of all Expenses logged. You can filter this report by all or specific matter owner(s), all or specific matter category, in a specific date range. 
  1. Client Listing Report - a record of main contact details (i.e. Name, Address, Phone Number and Email) for all your contacts added to Thread. You can filter this report by all contacts (all time), all primary clients (all time), and/or a particular time period. 
  1. Contact Questions Report - a record of all AML documentation and other relevant questions about contact. You can filter this report by Question(s), Contact Type (e.g. Primary Client, Other Side, Estate Agent, Medical Expert) and Yes/No Answer (i.e. True/False). 
  1. My Timesheet Report - a record of all your billable and nonbillable time records across all matters in a specific date range.
  1. Matter Owner Timesheet Report - a record of all users’ billable and nonbillable time records on matters you own, in a specific date range.
