The Dashboard gives you a snapshot of your day. Here you will see the latest emails on your matters, what tasks you need to complete next, and any matters to be aware of.
Pinned Matters - Pinning a matter to your dashboard enables you to access it quickly and easily. For more information, see Pinned Matters.
Recent Matters - Easily go back to any matters you’ve accessed recently, with the most recent showing on top. Preview window on dashboard shows the 5 most recent matters, but clicking on the Recent Matters heading will provide a full view of all your recent matters.
New Emails on Matters - When you send an email from a matter and the contact replies to that email, the reply will go directly into the matter inbox, and you will be notified here that there is a new email on the matter. For more information, see Matter Emails - Overview.
Recent calls - Here is where you will be notified of any calls or phone messages taken for you. Managing calls on Thread allows you to keep track of missed calls, return calls, take note of any relevant information from the call, and pass on information to a team member. For more information, see Call Logs
Scanned Items - Thread allows you to upload scanned items and assign them to matters, users and contacts. As a matter owner, you will be notified here if a colleague scans post and assigns a document to your matter(s). Clicking on the scanned document will open the document preview directly from your dashboard, or you can also go straight to the matter where it was assigned. For more information, see Scanned Items
Recent Tasks - will show you your tasks that require completion, ensuring that you keep up to date with your workload. For more information, see Tasks Management – Overview
Favourite Links - Adding your most frequently visited websites to your dashboard provides quick and easy access to these other sites.
Attention - With Thread, your colleague(s) can easily mark a matter or contact for your attention. So, if there has been an update on a matter, or a colleague would like to share a particular contact with you, they will show here on your dashboard. For more information, see Mark items for attention.

In the Top-left corner of Thread, you can click on your Avatar for easy access to Thread Assist, Thread AI Assistant, Personal Settings and to Sign out.
To-do list – This is your focused area for all items you need to action or follow up on. Here you will see your relevant tasks, document reviews and calls that need completion, ensuring you keep up to date with your workload. For more information, see To-Do List - Overview.
My Mail – From here you can easily go straight to your Outlook inbox in the browser. For more information, see Matter Emails - Overview
Matters – You can easily manage all matters here, whether it be exporting a list of matters created within a certain date range or viewing matters at particular stages and or/ in particular categories. You can also create new matters, edit or delete existing matters, export a report of matters and change matter status, e.g. close, archive. For more information, see Matter Overview Page and Exporting list of Matters
Contacts – Here you have full control of your contacts in Thread and can add, edit, or delete any contacts. You can also import contacts and export a report by contact type, contact owner, office/department and/or within a particular date range. For more information, see Creating and Deleting Contacts.
Companies – You can view and export a report of your companies in Thread using your preferred filters to view by a particular type and/or status. You can also add, edit or delete companies as needed. For more information, see Creating Companies.
Key Dates – Here you can view all key dates on matters across your organisation. You can view key dates by type, matter owner, category, office location, and within a certain date range. For more information, see Viewing Key Dates Across Matters.
Vault - All Wills, Deeds and Undertakings are stored in the vault, where you can export reports with your preferred filters and add, edit and delete as required. For more information, see Vault.
Financials – Keep track of bills and expenses for your firm with options to set your preferred filters and export in preparation for your financial meetings. Bills can be filtered by user, category, a particular date range and whether issued or not. Existing bills can be edited or a bill already within a matter can be issued from the Bills tab. Expenses can be filtered by all matters or specific matters in a particular date range and you can also add, edit, delete or copy expenses directly from the Expenses tab. Time History – Here you can view time history by user(s), by week, current month, last month, last 3 months, last 6 months, or a particular date range. You can use the search bar to find a specific time record or matter. You can also edit or delete existing time records. For more information, see Matter Time - Overview.
Scanned Items – Thread allows you to sync, or upload scanned items and assign them to matters, users, and contacts. Scanned documents can be managed here in the Scanned Items tab of your Thread page. For more information, see Scanned Items.
Unassigned Emails – Emails sent to and from matters on Thread have an ID that automatically links them to the matter. However, if an email is sent to the Thread dedicated email address, and it does not have a tracker ID linking it to any matter, then it will end up on the Unassigned Emails page. For more information, see Unassigned Emails
General Documents - Distinct from templates, the General Document tab on Thread is where frequently used documents such as ‘terms of service,’ blank forms, or ‘directions to our office’ should be stored. Documents that are added to the General Documents tab cannot be populated with client or matter details, and as such should not be coded using the template designer. Calendar – With Thread, you can share your calendar with colleagues so that your availability is visible and will assist users making any appointments on your behalf. For more information, see Viewing Calendars in Thread and How do I Share my Calendar on Thread?
Settings - Here you will find all settings and configurations relating to Thread, including general settings, system configurations, matter settings, and integrations with other applications. For more information, see Admin Settings - Overview.
Reports - The Reports section of Thread provides users with a complete overview of how much time members in the organisation have spent on matters, and how the work is distributed among the team. You can also find reports on current matter balances, or client AML completion. For more information, see Management Reports, Financial Reports and User Reports.
Quick Create Button - With the quick create button, users can perform many functions instantly from any page on Thread. This means that you never have to leave the page you are on to create a quick task, add a call log or a quick bill, allowing you to save time on Thread. For more information, see Quick Create Button.
Daily time sheet – Keep track of all your time throughout the day in your daily time sheet. Whether you recorded your time automatically, manually, or logged manual time records, all your time for the day will be visible in your daily time sheet where you can edit the records as needed. For more information, see Daily time sheet.
Note: Clicking the icon beside your avatar will hide the navigation bar so all the above will be reflected by icons instead of text and give you more visibility as you work in Thread.
The Calendar widget in the top right corner of your Thread Dashboard, enables you to better manage your time and you can create appointments directly from here also. For more information, see Creating Appointments.
The Notification widget will notify you when documents have been uploaded to your matters, both internally and externally (via Client Connect) depending on your selection. You can also check here for the progression status of Bundles generated on your matters and will be notified of upcoming key dates. For further information, see Notifications.
